As part of our preparation for our first time at convention this year, we performed at the Alderley Edge music festival, competing in the barbershop class.  It was the first time that we had ever performed in public, let alone, entered a competition.

The atmosphere was amazing as there were so many of the barbershop family from BABS,  LABBS and Sweet Adelines there to welcome us on stage and help us ease the nerves.  The standard of performance across all the choruses and quartets was fantastic and the judge even commented on the support that every group gave to each other.

We were thrilled with the adjudication which commented on the “marvellous, whole hearted singing” How we were “very polished and confident” and even said how we were “Very stylish”!  It was very unexpected that she awarded us with 1st place with an “outstanding” score.

“We are absolutely thrilled with our win at the Alderley Edge Music Festival,” says Lynn Day, Chairperson of Six Town Sound.

“Being such a young chorus, this achievement means even more to us. It’s a testament to the dedication and hard work of our members, and it validates the hard work we’ve put in, in such a short time. We are even more excited and determined as we continue to prepare for our very first convention – see you all there.”
